Born in Port Jefferson, N.Y., John Allocco moved to Florida in 1993 and came to Hernando County in 1999. Commissioner Allocco earned his bachelors degree in exercise and sports sciences from the University of Florida, and his masters degree in physical therapy and post-graduate certification from the University of St. Augustine. John and his wife, Randi, co-founded a physical therapy company in 2006 that grew to one Spring Hill and one Hudson clinic with a total of 15 employees in 2021. He and his wife, Randi, have two adult children, two daughters in college, and eight grandchildren. Commissioner Allocco was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in November 2016 and re-elected in 2020. He has served two times as Chairman. He has been active in several professional organizations in the fields of Physical Therapy and Real Estate, the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce and is has served as the Vice-Chairman, Chairman, and currently State Committeeman of the Hernando County Republican Party. Early in his professional career, he volunteered as Certified Athletic Trainer for Springstead and Hernando High schools, providing Sports Medicine coverage for sports. John and his family are also active members at their local church. Commissioner Allocco’s top priorities include smart economic growth, creating an environment that is favorable to attract new businesses and expand current businesses all while being fiscally responsible.

Support the Public Information Workshop (Policy 37-1) for Variances and Zoning Requests in Hernando Beach by being a member of HBPOA, staying informed about zoning changes and variances that could affect your property value or quality of life. Being informed provides you the opportunity to speak at Planning & Zoning meetings and Board of County Commissioner Meetings to express any issues or concerns that you may have.
