Our project for 2024/2025 is to honor longtime

Hernando Beach resident Joe Wachs, a local veteran who

was involved in everything on the beach and a friend to

everyone. For years Joe Wachs and friends Cal Holland

and Sarge Dendy rewired and restrung the aging

Christmas decorations purchased by the homeowner

associations to keep the lights on and spirit alive.

To honor Joe Wachs in his passing, the HBPOA

created the Joe Wachs Christmas Light Memorial Fund

with the goal to refurbish each decoration – all 25. They’ll

be stripped down, painted and rewired with new LED

lights.

The refurbishment per decoration costs $75 and

includes one 100-bulb LED string. Of course, most

decorations will take more than 100 lights but our goal for

the Joe Wachs Memorial Christmas Light Fund is to

refurbish all 25 decorations so they last another 20 years.

Please contribute what you can to keep the holiday spirit

alive on Hernando Beach and help us light up Shoal Line

Blvd., the Dolphin Fountain and Triangle Park welcoming

our guests and residents with festive lights and holiday

cheer this year and years to come. Thank you.
